This month the government of El Salvador launched a virtual channel for the creation of new companies and to obtain commercial registration through the electronic platform MiEmpresa.gob.sv.

The objective of this electronic tool is to promote the formalization of companies in El Salvador, through the simplification of procedures related to the creation and operation of companies, improving response times and reducing the costs associated with these efforts. In this way, the government bets on improving the conditions of the investment climate of the country.

Among the procedures that the users have accesses are:

  • Registration of articles of incorporation, registration of companies and their renewal, deposit of initial balance,
  • Obtaining the Tax Identification Number (NIT) and the Taxpayer Registration Number (NCR / VAT).
  • Registration of establishment, employer, companies in town hall, among others.

Another advantage offered by this site is the access to information on business obligations and follow-up of procedures. In addition, this platform places at the disposal of the users a center of attention in the facilities of the National Center of Registries (CNR), where they can make their consultations or monitor the steps; they also have a Call Center dedicated.

This center of attention has been coordinated by governmental entities such as: CNR, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Labor, Salvadoran Institute of Social Security, Pension Fund Administrators, Mayors of San Salvador and Santa Ana and the Regulatory Improvement Organization (OMR) , Under the coordination of the Ministry of Economy and the technical and financial support of the United States government through the International Bureau of Law Enforcement and Enforcement (INL), the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) and FOMILENIO II.
